I spoke with a Protect America customer service representative about 60 days before my contract cancelled. I told them that i was looking for other companies and that I was interested in cancelling. The representative told me that my contract with expire in September at the monitoring fee will change to somewhere around $6.00. So in October I called and asked for the lower rate. I was told that I was locked in for another year for $39.99 a month due to my contract automatically renewing. This surprised me. They told me that my contract states that I must send a letter in 30 days before the 3 year term date or it auto renews. The previous customer service person FAILED to mention this. I could have sent the letter then. So while this is going on the customer service person on the phone is asking me to buy more equipment "So, it says here that you are interested in motion detectors." I told them that I wanted to resolve the issue at hand before I buy anything else.
