World Wide Van Lines Ripped Off, Excessive Damages, Lied, Failed to Deliver, Verbally Attacked

We hired World Wide Van Lines to move our possessions to a different state. They hired a subcontractor, USA Relocation & Transfer to make our move. USA Relocation didn't abide by any of the contract. They came a day late for pick-up and had no way to safely load our motorcycles onto the truck. My husband had to drive them up a narrow, steep ramp.

The move was supposed to take 5-6 days, but 23 days later they showed up. We were verbally attacked over the phone by Bobby every time we called him about our things, even the first time. The first driver called us to say that Bobby wanted him to unload our load into storage so he could pick up another load. At some point this must have been done, because when it was picked up our load was at the tail end of the truck and another load was at the front. The truck was full. On delivery our load was in the front of the truck.

Almost every item not in boxes was damaged. Two motorcycles had several pieces broken and one had 2 dents and scratched paint. The paint had been flawless. Our Canadian Glider had the arm totally snapped off. A brand new massage table and a new cordless drill set were mysteriously missing. There were too many damages to list here.

On delivery the load now at the back of the truck had to be unloaded onto the wet grass and gravel in order to get to ours. I took pictures of how carelessly that load was placed. The sole trucker, trying to move a brand new (tags still on it) soft leather recliner had to tip it onto its footrest and wiggle it back and forth to move it. I see how our things could have been damaged. There is no way that the one person who showed up with our load could have moved half the things by himself. My husband with a bad back had to do much of the lifting.

Trying to collect any payment is impossible. We filled out the forms, had them notarized as told and sent them in. Anthem Claim Management, LLC was hired by USA Relocation & Transfer to handle claims. They only make a recommendation on the amount that USA Relocation & Transfer should pay according to our claim. The amount turns out to be based on their depreciation of our property, not just the rididulously low amount of. 60 per pound. Their recommendation for us was $324.00.

World Wide Van Lines had led us to believe that their insurance was over and above what the legal amount of. 60 per pound was. They have assumed no responsiblilty over this move.

My credit card company refused to reverse the charge because I hired the movers to transport our load. The Better Business Bureau in Florida can't do anything because they said that they can only negotiate a settlement if the business is willing to cooperate, but this company is not.

World Wide Van Lines says they are calling Bobby to have him send our payment, but this is almost a year later and we still are out approximately $400.00 for our 2 missing items and all the damages that total much more than $1500.00 when you include the motorcycle damage.

USA Relocation & Transfer should be investigated and put out of business before anyone else has to go through the misery that we have suffered. I thought World Wide Van Lines was a reputable company, but they are only the middle man. They only got us to sign a contract, then passed us onto the unscrupulous USA Relocation & Transfer.
