Classmates.com offered a "one-year special" for $19.00. For that price, I thought it was worth it. I used my debit card, was charged the $19.00 and was contacted by them at least monthly, sometimes several times a month, with info. For the month of Aug., I did not receive any contact at all from them... I guess they wanted to lay low so I would forget about them till they attacked...
This past Monday, 9/13/10, I received a notice that I was "automatically renewed", as per the agreement I made w / them, for $39.00. This was taken out of my debit account, without my permission.
I emailed customer service and they informed me that once a renewal was made, there was no way to cancel and get my $ back. They made a point of letting me know this by saying that I had "agreed" to these terms when I signed up a year ago.
Of course, if the fine print was any smaller... It would not be there! Why make an offer for a "ONE YEAR SPECIAL FOR $19.00" and not tell the customer that this was on auto renewal? Answer my own question... If they did, everyone would cancel before the renewal!!! THEY ARE A RIP-OFF OF THE FIRST ORDER... Spread the word... I am telling everyone in my class about this. Hope this helps you!!!
