I used to work for PAMA. They employ fearful people who they hope will not talk back in order to bully them into administering their unlawful policies. I attended meetings, heard stories, and got fired by them because I did not want to comply with their orders to use inferior repair techniques, and to raise rents indiscriminately, and to have homes they rented under violation of city and state laws. They have a huge turnover because they will fire people at will. They invent reasons, invent ineptitudes, and basically terrorize the people who work for them. The bottom line is what counts for them. My supervisor used sexual harassment, and stole funds and manpower. I spent my own money as petty cash, then when she failed to reimburse me, I had to fight for 6 months to get it back. That was when I got fired. She also mixed those funds with her personal checking account. I believe she was using her maintenance workers to buy new appliances for the homes, then switch them for the most disgusting and sometimes non-working appliances to put into the rentals. I had to sign for these appliances as received. The tenants, who live in the desert, sometimes had to wait for days for their cooling units to be repaired. Some of these people were elderly, some had children. PAMA does not have a care for their tenants, or for the responsibility to the law, unless they are caught. They would rather violate the law and be fined, then comply.
