John Serven. This is the second report I believe to be held by this site. After reviewing the first for about 5 minutes I gave up as it's a pretty good read, Serven must have done a good job on at least making sure these people were enraged.

My name is Chris. To cut through it all, I'm 22, and I was looking for a summer job. I started working for serven about 3 weeks ago. I have worked on various construction and home improvement projects since I was in middle school. Never have I met a contractor as egocentric and condescending such as this man, yet he still manages to make himself seem naive to anything except " a positive lifestyle" once you have something he wants.
If you ask him about this— He will say that III am negative... Rather than argue with this man about the money he owes me, even though he stood chest to chest with me as to intimidate me in a physical manner... I'm writing this recollection of past events for all of you to see! Whats negative about the truth? I wish the government shared the same outlook!:)

Money makes people do funny things. Of course money is important in our lives, but it turns some people into a completely different person. It is my belief that these people are weak willed and are unable to uphold the character that is capable of balancing a win-win. Not saying it's easy either, but life is about hard work. So now I'm going a little off topic, but I'll make up for it and cut right to it.

I could not stand working for John Serven. He does not lead by example—Not only does he sends his workers off to the jobs, moves them around, has them working later than 4:30 almost every day and REFUSES not to pay after 4:30. He delegates tasks that are taking grown, fit, conditioned men less time then it would normally take workers that are not as fit, then he shows up and threatens not to pay us for not finishing faster? He does this almost daily. Mood swings like he's bi polar... All of this is fine and well until it comes down to the fact that I, myself, considering I have about 6 years of sales experience decided I was wasting my time and landed a job at a local car dealership. I did not bother to give John a two weeks notice, a notified him halfway through the day, So his reaction to this is to not pay me what he owes me.

Now, it seems to be fair to him to not pay me for the hours I worked wearing a uniform and overalls, getting paid 10$ an hour and being reminded with exact words consisting of "your not worth more than 10$ an hour to me"

I am working class, I have lived on my own since I was 16. This man is a joke, he does not lead by example, only looks for what he see's as people in need, and he mistakes determination and ambition for need, for desperation, and claims to look for loyal workers.

He targets military for employees. It is my personal belief that he has watched Full Metal Jacket one too many times and likes the shoes of the drill instructor. I have had hard bosses before, and like I send, I've been living by myself since I was 16 I've got tough skin. This fella is simply not a stand-up guy that I think A business owner should be in this day-and-age.

John Serven may be capable of doing goodwork on houses, but he does not treat his employees fairly and is in SEVERE debt. A desperate man in desperate times.

Find a contractor that does not hide behind a smile!
