We obtained our Monitronics monitoring service thru a local vendor, first mistake. After 2 year, we moved into a new house. I contact Monitronics main office in Dallas, TX requesting they move our system. We had 1 year remaining on our contract. What we received was a new contract for 3 more years once they installed the new system.
I contacted Monitronics and they indicated that I needed to buy a new contract. I stated that I just wanted to satisfy the remaining year on our current contract. I reviewed the cntract and did not see a move clause. We then contacted the local vendor that installed the system numerous times only to get the same response of "We are waiting to here from Monitronics Home Office."
We moved into our new house with no monitoring system and started to receive calls from Monitronics about our service at which time they indicated that we could simply remove the old system and take it with us. Hard to do, since we no longer live there and we have moved. WHY DIDN'T THEY TELLS US THAT IN THE BEGINNING!!!
I have written to Monitronics telling them to stop billing me for a service they are not providing. I even quoted their contract. I know they have received my letter because they have referenced it in our conversations. I spoke with the office again and they indicated that they would have the supervisor ot their "Moving Dept." contact me. I am still receiving calls asking for payment for a service I am not receiving. I have made numerous attempts to resovle the issue but get broken promises, no returned calls but I STILL get a monthly bill.
I have read the other posted problems and feel a Class Action Lawsuit could be a possible answer.
I am open to suggestions.
