On 09/29/03 Direct Long Distance debited my checking account $64.32. When I discovered the charge on my bank statement, I called my bank to find out the company name and they gave me a Customer Service phone number.
I have called 4 times talked to Kelly, Cesca, Karen, and someone else only to find out that I am not in their system; not under my name, address, or phone number.
They have looked through the 314 people with the same last name as mine; all of the people in their computer that live in the same city I live in, none of whom I know. They don't have a clue why I was billed.
Everytime I ask to be transferred to billing, they leave me on hold a very long time and then tell me to fax my billing statement. I don't have a billing statement!"Remember, I told you I did not order long distance! And if I am not in your system, how did you manage to bill me?"
Just a few moments ago I tried to call them back to get their street address and the AT&T operator comes on the line and asks for the access code for this 800 number?
My frustration is growing but I will not give up! My next step will be to try the California State Attorney General's office.
