Being in a wheelchair it was impossible to unpack 2 large comforter sets (sold for $69.95 each) to make sure every piece was intact but assured @ checkout that if there were any problems a prompt refund would be issued within 30 days w/receipt. Found out both sets were missing pieces and called to tell the store about obviously used and returned items that were incomplete. Told to bring them in for a refund. Waited my turn in line while two other customers were hassled about their returns as the head cashier, Delean James, "smelled" and took apart every item searching for any flaw to use as an excuse to deny customers refunds. When my turn came the same insulting ritual took place especially on the 2 large towels that faded all over my laundry when washed the first time. Was told that no refund would be issued on either of the comforter sets or towels because the items were not in "re-sellable" condition!
I was blamed for the missing comforter pieces and faded towels and told NO REFUND. Asked to speak to the manager, Kelly A. Thomas, who came to the front with plastic wrist restraints sticking out of her back pocket. She/he? Proceeded to tell me NO REFUND without authorization from her district manager, Ray Clark, who was of course unreachable by phone. Both admitted that many comforter sets were often sold incomplete. When I requested a copy of their return policy I was told: "that if you don't turn your wheelchair around and leave with your things right now that you and I are going to have a problem!" I left feeling completely humiliated and mocked when Delean snickered as I struggled with my packages to leave while holding back tears. If you are disabled or simply looking for unused, undamaged, clean items for your home AVOID "OLD TIME POTTERY" as they will lie to you while taking your money and god help you if you need a refund on any of their substandard Chinese made goods. Have been trying to reach someone @ corporate offices (615) 890-6060 for 8 days with no reply.
