Buxton Cell Phone Case shipping scam requires rebate. Adds items to order without customer knowledge. Charges card without verification

I am writing this on behalf of my frustrated mother. She had purchased one of the wallets in the past, stating that they are a very good product. Because of this she did not hesitate to order online. The website was easy to find and represented the product she intended to buy. The niceties stopped there.

The deal was that if you order 1 wallet for $9.95 you get a second one free - just pay $7.95 Processing & Handling.

1st issue:
The website collected her payment information before allowing her to select her merchandise.

2nd issue:
The site added every previewed item to her cart. When she realized that she was reviewing the wrong item (she wanted the wallet, not the cell phone holder) she tried to exit the site. Doing so completed the order without allowing her to review the order. They just completed the transaction. :| The confirmation email contained more nasty details.

3rd issue:
The first confirmation identified that she had ordered 2 cell phone holders - charged her twice ($19.98).

4th issue:
They also tacked on a $30 processing & handling fee. NOT the $7.95 fee as advertised. They are legally allowed to do this because they dishonestly require the consumer to submit a P&H REBATE for the difference!!! :|

5th issue:
The first confirmation email did not have a phone number, only a generic customer service email that leads to a shady-looking site where they expect you to enter contact information. The generic site bears no visual affiliation with Buxton.

6th issue:
My mom really wanted the wallet so she found the site that offered the correct item and tried her luck there. (I know... I know...) She found the item and viewed the available colors: black and brown. Doing so, she unintentionally added 2 of EACH COLOR to her order and was subsequently charged for all four wallets and a $60 P&H fee.

Needless to say, this company is nothing more than an internet predator out to take advantage of the unaware consumer. I understand that people need to be educated on internet shopping practices, but this is ridiculous. Buxton has enlisted some of the dirtiest tricks to trap people into ordering and paying too much - all in an effort to maximize profits through deception.

If only on principal, STAY AWAY from Buxton!!!

P.S. I may be speaking too early, but Buxton did return both orders over the phone without much trouble. We'll see if her bank confirms.
