Ripoff Salesman Lee ext 1825 did not tell the full truth about Direct TV and everything involved with Satellite Dish

I looked in our local telephone directory for Direct TV and guess what company was listed? Yes, you got it, Prime TV and I called for information. Before I got off the telephone with the salesman, Lee, I had agreed to go with Direct TV satellite. This was on 21 July.

He asked me to give him information to charge the shipping, $19.90, for the dish. Dummy me! I did! Lee only told me that I would get 2 months free for $44.00 a month to include 2 receivers, local channels, would have to pay the installers $99.00 but would get it back with the rebate form. The dish was received on 23 July and the paperwork arrived on 26 July.

What Lee did not tell me was all the paperwork, signing, 1 year agreement, credit check, having to pay for the second receiver monthly, all the important stuff, etc. The installer did not say anything about the paperwork until the dish was installed and everything was ready to active the Direct TV. It was not the installer's fault for the paperwork and my lack of knowledge. If I had known all about this, I would have never agreed to this kind of deal.

I tried to call Lee twice the day of the installation, he wasn't in and two messages were left. He never has returned my calls. I talked to about 5 people at Prime TV and Direct TV. I told them that this was misrepresentation and I should have been told all of the truth upfront by the salesman. I was informed that the salesperson does not have to tell the consumer anything about the credit check, year agreement, etc.

I told these 5 people that I wanted my shipping charges and installation charges refunded, the dish completely removed by the installer, all equipment removed from my home, and my cable connected back. And I was told that it was my problem to remove the dish, all equipment, send it back, shipping was not refundable, and I should have read the paperwork. How can you read it until it arrives after the dish?

I talked to a female at Direct TV and I don't know what she was doing wrong, but she could not find a credit report on me. She told me that I was going to have to send in a copy of my driver's license, utilities bills, and $50.00. I told her there was no way because I didn't know them. And I didn't.

Finally on 01 August I called Direct TV and the supervisor got the credit report and activated the account.

I contacted Prime TV and Direct TV, trying to cancel the account and everything involved but to not avail. This was within the government's 3 days of changing my mind.

Something has to be done to Prime TV and Direct TV for the way they get customers.
The individual law of each state or the federal government or a class action lawsuit needs to be filed against both of them. Every consumer needs to receive a full refund of all charges.

Also I don't like the way Direct TV puts the informaiton icon on the screen for you to press select and it is a company trying to sell you something while you are watching a movie or sitcom, etc.

What about it consumers?
