Opex Communications
This company continues to send me fraudulent bills adding a new finance charge every month

I used this cellphone company for several years as a low priced alternative to the big companies. I believe they used Cingular towers. When AT&T took over Cingular they apparently booted OPEX off the use of their towers (or maybe they just upped the price). At any rate OPEX then offered a new plan at a much higher rate over the existing plan. I declined this "oppurnity" and opted out. This is when the fraud began (July). An unbelievable scenario of charges and credits began to appear on my monthly bill. There were charges for phone calls made which were supposed to be free as part of the plan. They were charged to the phone that they were not made from. They were buried deep in that phone`s usage record. A simple division showed they were billed at $3.32 per minute. There were double charges for the second phone usage. There were charges made after the phone was discontinued. There was a series of charges (and one credit) from OPEX and one bill from Total Call International all charged to my credit card. Needless to say I was all the while either writing or (trying) to call OPEX to get this resolved. I gave up on any calling as it was almost impossible to get through. The few times I did get through I was either cut off or given answers that later proved to be false. I continued receiving ebills from OPEX monthly with a finance charge added each time. They never would explain what the bills were for. (I had refused to let my credit card to be charged after July). Billing was handled by email so I filed a complaint with the FCC. After my email was changed I began receiving bills through the mail so I`ve filed mail fraud with the post office. I saved all text associated with this fraud and don`t know exactly where I want to go from here. I don`t know why I was selected for this treatment by OPEX but maybe they thought at my age (I`m 82 now) that I would just pay whatever they asked. I think it is more likely that they went to a lot of effort to extract money from whoever opted out of their "opportunity" to use their new plan. If that`s the case then there certainly must others out there that were overcharged and just paid the bill. Case for a class action? I don`t know.
