Stopped in Best Buy today to pick up a CD for my daughter to give her Dad for Christmas. It's a pretty lame CD, but that's what she wanted to get him. It was $12.99, no big deal. Got it home to start wrapping it, and as most people do, I peeled off the price sticker. Much to my surprise, the original barcoded sticker read $9.99...$3 LESS than what they slapped their big yellow sticker on! I checked my receipt, thinking maybe they only charged me the $9.99 price, (I bought a few other things there, so I didn't see any red flags at the register), but they did charge the marked up price of $12.99. Now, I know it's only $3, but the fact that Best Buy would mark items UP 3 days before Christmas, in this economy, is a pretty douche bag move! I called them right away, to give them the chance to make things right. Without telling them what was purchased, just asking the girl on the phone if Best Buy ALWAYS marks up their merchandise over the holidays, I was given the response of: "the lower price was the introductory price, now it's selling at full, regular price".
