I rented a property from Premiere Property Services at the beginning of 2009. After my initial inspection of the property, I submitted the inspection checklist, including those items that needed repair. Premiere took a minimalist attitude and only repaired a couple minor items on the list, leaving the more important items, involving security and safety (and CODE VIOLATION), as it was.
A few months after moving in, I was a day late getting my rent to them. I informed them that very day that it was coming, but would be late, and they charged me a "pay or vacate" fee without posting the proper paperwork on the unit. This was a violation of the state Landlord-Tenant Act.
Over the course of time I lived at the property, I submitted requests for various items to be repaired that either stopped working or were damaged through no fault of my own (e.G. Damaged by nature). At one point, I was specifically told that if they came out to fix an item, they would charge me for the repairs.
After having lived there for about eight months, the heater stopped working properly. I submitted, in writing, a request to have it fixed. As it was heading into the winter months, this was rather important.By law, they were required to fix it within 24 hours. TWO MONTHS LATER, they still hadn't even come out to look at the problem.By this time, I had found another place to live, and enacted my right under the state Landlord-Tenant Act to terminate the rental agreement.
From what I've seen from other online reports, this is not the first time these people have acted in this fashion. They are arrogant, rude and condescending. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They are nothing more than modern-day slumlords.
