I am a realtor and was contacted by Firehouse Promotions. I was told that my logo caught their attention because it was very marketable and eye catching. They told me they produce memo boards for fire stations all accross the nation and sell advertising space to local business people like myself to fund it. I was told that I could have a 2" x 4" space in the upper right hand corner of the board for $600. The firemen would then give these out to people at events and functions they attended. Each region had a different memo board to advertise people in that area, I was told.
I paid the $600 using my credit card and was told that I would receive a sample for my approval, but time went by and I never heard from anyone, so I contacted Firehouse Promotions. I asked for my contact person and was told she was out and would call me tomorrow. This same scenario happened several times.
I then started asking for someone else because my contact wasn't returning my calls. Another person would get on the phone and tell me they would look into it and call me back, but of course they never did. I eventually looked them up on the internet and immediately saw the rip off reports filed from other people that were very similar to what I was experiencing.
Today I am out $600 but have no intention of walking away quietly. If there is anyone out there who can help me with this, please call. We need to shut these people down so they can't continue to scam people out of their hard earned money.
