My friend also bought a horse from this Angela woman. She claimed the horse was "kid broke" but was most definitely NOT. My friend, myself, and my son made a 2 hour trip to her barn to try out this horse. Of course she knew when we'd be there, we had to call before we got there so she could make sure she'd be there. All 3 of us rode said horse for several hours and we were convinced this was the horse for my friend. The horse was calm and cool, nothing we did bothered her. My friend had had an accident a few years before and needed a confidence building horse and Angela had been told the story and knew what my friend was looking for and had assured us this horse was the one for her.
The horse was quite pricy but my friend had decided she wanted her as long as her paperwork was in order. Her coggins papers were missing but Angela assured us she had them at her home and they would be with her paperwork when we came back to pick her up. When we returned to pick up the horse she was wild eyed and nervous. We just assumed she knew she was leaving and was nervous about a new trailer. We got the horse loaded and started down the road when I asked my friend about the coggins test. We were only a few miles from Angela's barn so my friend called her and asked her about the coggins papers. Angela told us they were in the paperwork, we informed her they were not. We told her we were turning around to come get them and she said she had to leave to pick up her kids. We told her that we needed that paperwork to get across state lines and that if she didn't have them we were bringing the horse back to her for a refund. She told us if we brought that horse back to her barn she'd call the sheriff's office and have us arrested. At this point my friend just wanted her money back, but Angela refused to give it to her. My friend did consider putting a stop on the check but didn't want the hassle of a warrant for stolen property or a bad check. We crossed back into Alabama without the coggins but I was scared the whole time.
We believe the horse was doped to calm her down while we were there, of course we can't prove it, but this horse has never been that same calm horse we rode in her barn. This horse is also a chronic cribber and that was also NOT mentioned in her ad.
Angela is a horse trader who is only in it for the money, she doesn't care if someone gets hurt so long as she makes a quick buck. Buyer BEWARE!
