Phone call from Get Retail Rebates. They call and explained that for trying a particular company (s) products I would receive a $100 card to spend as I wish. If I chose to keep the products I would be charged accordingly, if not just call and cancel but keep the $100 card. I called to cancel the products within the time allowed, however I never received any rebate. The information that came in an email asked that you sign onto a web site (getretailrebates.com) and enter activation code to get rebate. The rebate was worth only $2 and some change and the check would be sent in the mail. It explained that every couple weeks I would receive another email with an activation code. Having to go through all that to get the $2 dollar rebates was not worth it and I didn't pursue continuing to activate any other rebates. I never received anything from the company. A few months later I noticed I had a charge that was taken from my checking account for $19.95. I called the company which was ID Watchdog and inquired about the charge on my account. Unfortunately I had confused it with another service that I was paying for and didn't relize that this was a new deduction. When I spoke to the representative at ID Watchdog I explained that I thought my charge should have only be $12.99 which is the cost I negotiated with the company I thought I was talking with. The representative at ID Watchdog agreed and said he would correct the issue. After noticing a few months later that I was still getting charged the $19.95 a month I called again. This is when I figured out that the Get Retail Rebates phone call sent my information to ID Watchdog and gave them the ok to sign me up for their service and deduct payment from my account on a monthy basis. I cannot contact the Get Retail Rebates company nor will ID Watchdog refund my money.
