After my wife reported her phone stolen, Alltel automatically deducted the balance of her cell phone bill and a $400.00 early disconnect from MY checking account which my wife is not on. It seems she had made a payment before with my account and they kept the info.
Subsequently, I had several checks to bounce with fees that added up to $273.00. I called Alltel and they appologized and returned the money they withdrew from my account and said they would reimburse the fees. So far this has not happened and they will not talk to me when i try to call although the automated system is calling for my wife's bill. It seems like it should be against the law for someone to withdraw money from your checking account without gaining prior authorization.
