I purchased a Spring Air mattress at Mattress Giant on November for about $2000.00 (before taxes). About six months later there was a depression on each side of the bed (my husband's side was much deeper since he is much bigger than I am).
This side depression caused a hump in the center of the mattress.
We went to Mattress Giant and they gave us a very long and tedious warranty form to fill out, which we did and mailed it out to Consolidated Bedding on July.
Someone called and scheduled an appointment to come in and inspect the mattress. The inspector came in and took some measurements of the body impressions and told us we would hear from them in a couple of weeks.
About a month later we received a letter from Consolidated bedding indicating that our claim was denied because the impressions were at one inch and body impressions up to one and a half inches are not structural defect.
(Let's keep in mind that this mattress is only 8 months old and it already had impressions measuring one inch).
They also stated in ther letter that should the dody impression exceed 1-1/2" in the future we could contact them and they would re-start the warranty claim process.
Nedlees to say that the depression looked and felt more like a shallow grave we were sleeping in less than six months later. The back pain that my husband and I developed was terrible.
I contacted Consolidated Bedding again in August by mail and until this day October 25th, I have not received a response from them.
When we purchased a new mattress, I wanted to make sure that it was not a spring air mattress.
I am very dissapointed after spending $2000.00 on a mattress that I would have to purchase a new one less than two years later.
