Two years ago I bought leads from Insurance Marketing Services aka Mark Sugarman, with promises of guaranteed sit-down appointments. As it turned out, the leads were terrible, people didn't know why I was there, said the setter was very vague and wouldn't identify himself, and they were told someone would be by the next day to drop off information. They were totally clueless why someone showed up and wanted to talk about their finances or whatever we did talk about, if they would let me stay there that long. Majority said they didn't understand why, or what was going on and if they knew it was for looking at their finances they wouldn't have agreed to a time. If I didn't have a sit-down presentation, Mark would replace it. I purchased 20 leads and only two qualified as leads, and he did replace the other shitty appointments with 9 more crappy ones. When I asked for replacements, he said he had furnished me with a total of 29 appointments and he fulfilled his requirement. I told him that his guarantee in writing was to replace any non-sitdown with another one and he said "So sue me", and hung up the phone.
Six months ago, I saw another ad for leads from Annuity Gold Mine aka Mark Howard (Mark's middle name) and they had a nice website. He has a girl named Stacy Miller, with a very sexy voice, selling the service and she won't return phone call so she is probably in on the scam. They emailed their contract and I changed some of the wording, from 1-2 leads a week to 2-4 leads a week. Their guarantee was to replace any lead which didn't involve a sit-down appointment. So far, they have 'set' 16 'appointments', same results, they didn't know why I was there. They said is sounded like he was call from a cell phone.
Mark has a new twist now, he asking for $500.00 to $1,000.00 bonus, or 10% to 15% for him to be paid in cash for more guaranteed sales. He says he has 150 agents and 11 are sending him money every week. He said he wasn't a licensed insurance agent and he didn't want his boss to know about the money requirement.
