We were called and offered a loan modification in April. We gave 4 post dated checks, for a total of 3,147.84 to the notary who came to our home. It is now 7 1/2 months later and they are out of business and we are out the money, not to mention, on their advice not making 8 months of mortgage payments. We are now facing foreclosure on our home and at our age cannot afford to start over.
