Amerassist turnaround management coroporation told us that they would be able to negotiate with our creditors in order to not only improve our cash flow but also to decrease the amount of debt that we owed them. Mr. Marshall Finney was the original person I spoke with and he assured me that they would negotiate with all my creditors and that there was a money back guarantee in case anything should happen and my debt was not able to be negotiated. I was told that the only thing that would happen to my credit was that the accounts would be shown as settled and not paid in full.
After three months and taking $7154 none of my creditors had been delt with and I was receiving calls 7 days a week from my creditors telling me that if they did not receive payment that legal action would be brought against my company. I repeatedly called Amerassist and was told that my account would be looked into and someone would be getting back to me, which did not happen. When one of my credit card companies hired a local law firm threatening a law suit against me I was told this was a "standard collection letter". I was never told that my accounts would be allowed to go to collections before they were delt with which has damaged my personal credit score. I was also informed by two of my creditors that they would not deal with Amerassist.
When I withdrew from their program and asked for my money back I was told that there would not be a refund because I violated the contract by withdrawing from the program. Even after faxing all documentation showing proof that my accounts were not delt with and that most of my creditors were unwilling to work with Amerassist they were only willing to refund a small portion of my funds.
Not only do I now still owe all my creditors, I have late fees that have accumulated, my personal credit has been damaged and I am now short $7154 that I desparately need to get my accounts current.
My advice is to not use this company. Most creditors are not willing to work with them and they will allow your accounts go into collections and even then they will not be delt with. Amerassist preys on small businesses that are having cash flow problems in this down economy by assuring you that they will deal with your creditors and improve your cashflow, this is not the case.
