On 09/23 at approx., 1:00P.M. My husband (who is disabled, having an above the knee prosthetic leg) and I picked up an 18 week old full breed Yorkshire male puppy from the seller, who met us in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We had placed $100.00 dollars through paypal to hold the puppy, whom the seller guaranteed was fully healthy, had no health issues, and assured us full money back guarantee.
My husband and I opted to drive to Oklahoma rather than fly the puppy to New Mexico where we reside, in order to avoid the stress that is caused to the puppy from the flight. My husband spoke with the seller, whom we found on the website, Puppy 1`find and is listed under Dusty Rose Kennel, Barbara Ross (or Leona Gayer). The advertisement also clearly states the puppy was healthy, VETERINARIAN EXAMINATION, HEALTH CERTIFICATE, AND HEALTH GUARANTEE.
Upon meeting with Leona Gayer in Oklahoma City, Ms. Gayer had no Health Certificate, No Veterinarian Examination, or Veterinarian paperwork of any kind, claiming she had forgot these papers but would supply to us upon going back to her residence, since she lived an hour in a half away. Ms. Gayer then advised us that the puppy's crown had not closed yet on his head, but ASSURED us that her vet told her it would surely close and she assured us she believed it would close. She had not divulged this information to us prior to us picking up the puppy, instead, assured us that the puppy was very healthy, with the health guarantee. Ms. Gayer advised that we could have our Veterinarian check the puppy and if we were not satisfied, she would fully refund the amount of the puppy paid, which was $525.00 dollars in cash (receipt provided upon our insistence) and another $100.00 dollars that was paid through paypal as a deposit, with a total amount paid of $625.00 dollars. The advertisement states $875.00 dollars, but this amount would including airline shipping, which we opted not to have and opted to pick up the puppy.
Ms. Gayer then advised us that the amount for the puppy was $625.00 dollars. The very next morning my husband took the puppy, advertised name of LIL BILL, to our Veterinarian. It was then that my husband was told by the Vet, that at this age of the puppy, almost five months old, if the crown on his head had not closed, it would most likely not close at all. The Vet further advised that the puppy had an irregular Heart Arythmia, which would be the cause of him passing out, having problems breathing, and possibly needing to see a Veterinary Cardiologist. The heart issue was never disclosed to us by the seller, as well as the contradiction by our Vet regarding the soft spot on his crown would not close, thus creating a danger for the puppy throughout his life. My husband and I have attempted resolution with the seller on several accounts, with the seller hanging up on us, yelling and being rude.
The seller has demanded that we drive back to Oklahoma City to deliver the puppy or that we pay half the price for shipping, which we refused to pay, since it was through her lies and her false advertisement. We have found that she also goes by the kennel name of Fairytales, this name provided to us by her account set up on Paypal, as well as through a joint business under the name of Dusty Rose Kennel, jointly operated with her sister Barbara Ross, and also has a cellular telephone number listed under the name of RACHEL ANDERSON, as well as phone listing under the city of LOCUST GROVE, OKLAHOMA, and ROSE, OKLAHOMA.
I sent an email through Puppy find, which goes to Barbara Ross, where the advertisement of the puppy was made, explaining the problem, with no response. We are filing this complaint since we have been cheated out of a healthy puppy and the lies and false advertisement made by the seller, who is a breeder and associate breeders, when all we asked for was our full refund and even offered to meet the seller in Amarillo Texas, which is four hours away, again with the seller telling us that we were to deliver the puppy as she demanded.
