ATT is charging me for a service that they can't provide! I moved to an area where my cell phones don't work, but ATT is forcing me to continue to pay for them because I signed a contract for service with them. They can't provide me with service where I live, but are forcing me to pay for it.
I have been an ATT customer for 2 years and was very happy with my wireless phone service. I bought a house and moved to a place where there is a huge hole in ATT wireless service. They aware of the problem and blame it on the city for not allowing them to put up another tower in my neighborhood. I have been unable to use my phones at home, in my yard, or on my street since I moved 2 weeks ago. Even though they are aware that the service is horrible where I live and they can't improve it, they won't let me out of my wireless contract with them.
This means that I have to pay them for another 2-1/2 months for the phone sevice on my 2 phones even though they don't work where I live. They say that I am bound to my contract and that the contract doesn't garauntee service everywhere. Thay said if I break the contract, they will charge me a $175 early termination fee. Even though I think it is unacceptable that my phones don't work at my house and have been a good customer for them, they refuse to let me out of my contract so that they can charge me my remaining monthly fees which will amount to about $160.
I've called them over 5 times, been to 2 stores, and have emailed them 3 times and they still won't let me out of this contract. This cost me over 10 hours of my personal time. The contract is their policy and they have the power to make an exception to their policy.instead, they are screwing me by forcing me to pay 2-1/2 months till the end of my contract for a service that they can't provide so they can make another $160 or pay their $175 early termination fee. I paid them $2429.24 over 2 years for my phone service and they are keeping me in this contract to make another $160. So watch out, because this is how ATT Wireless treats its loyal customers! I hope their reputation and my future business was worth the $160.
