Empire claimed to be able to work with me since I would be out of the country at the time of the move. They said my girlfriend could be the contact person in the event of any issues with the move. The rep said I was not supposed to disassemble or package anything and that the movers would do it for me. When they came to pick up my stuff, there was an additional $705 in charges that they applied to my bill and neither I nor my girlfriend was notified about it until after the move. Apparently, the charges were for furniture not being disassembled or packaged. I was out of the country and received an email about it. When my girlfriend called to ask about the charge, the foreman spoke to her disrespectfully and told her this was not her issue. I called down to ask about this several times, and each time I was placed on hold and told that nobody was available to assist me. When I emailed about this, the company said the issue was out of their hands. 2. Some furniture they delivered was obviously not taken care of because some was broken and others were damaged. The moving company refused to refund my money. 3. I was double charged for an item and the moving company refused to refund my money. I was also charged for an item the movers did not pick up. 4. Furniture was left unbuilt even though the contract says they were to build it. 5. The movers were to deliver the keys from my previous location to the new location. They did not 6. Late delivery.
