Merchant Warehouse is a credit card processing company that takes money from it's customers bank account, without permission. Being in business since 1991, I have heard many of the excuses used by credit card processors for taking money without permission. This includes the Y2K scam that cost me about $250.00 back in 2000. My latest experience is with Merchant Warehouse. They took $59.00 from my account and labeled it as a "One Time Charge", on my statement. When I called and questioned Merchant Warehouse, I was told that it was a charge to all merchants and it was for some enhanced security measures that they made. I advised them that they did not have permission to take money from my account. I was advised that they could take my money because they have all of my banking info!!! I understand that they do have my banking info but I was a bit surprised to hear their arrogance in making this kind of statement. I do not like giving out my banking info, unfortunately we sometimes have no choice. My $59.00 loss is not a major loss but I am counting my pennies during these hard economic times. After reading usacomplaints.com, I guess I got off pretty easy compared to the amount of money Merchant Warehouse took from Joe and Rodrigo. Multiply this $59.00 "One Time Charge" by the number of Merchant Warehouse customers and I thing that you will agree that the amount of money that was taken, is huge!!!
I believe this has the making of a big class action lawsuit!!! I will be closing my Merchant Warehouse account and hope that all fellow merchants who had money taken, do the same!!! If you are using Merchant Warehouse, check your statement ending 7/31/09 to see if you were RIPPED OFF!
If there are three people willing to be named as the head of a class action lawsuit, I may have an attorney that may be interested in this case.
