I work for an ISP/tech company in the UK and was contacted by a few people anonymously regarding the dating site 'sexsearchcom.com'.
After listening to complaints of fraudulent activity I was required to investigate these claims. After repeated attempts to contact the owners of the website I decided to run some IP checks and download some recent activty reports. It appears the same company owns a variety of URLs.
Here is a list (by no means comprihensive!) of sites associated with sexsearchcom.com.
Infinitypersonals.com. Xxxmatch.com, findlove.net, truelove.net, sexsearch.com, shewantsu.com, sexsearchcom.net, sexsearchcom.org.
Many of these sites have been accused of fraudulent activities on various forums. Also, at least half share the same webmail servers.
After reviewing data from anonymous sources a clear pattern emerges, email communication from various 'women' are identical with ocassional changes to names and locations. Most report an 'automated' responce to questions posed.
It appears this site in no more than an unsophisticated algorithm connected to a large database designed to snare dating hopefuls and rinse their bank accounts.
Also brought to my attention was the inability of members to unsubscribe without contacting the 'customer help line'. Coupled with an automatically continuing supscription service this is clearly designed to inhibit peoples ability to unsubscribe and thus extort more money.
I would urge everyone to avoid this and similar unknown websites! Always search for reviews and opinions before paying for anything!
