Beware!!! 1st Century Mortgage is now completely ignoring me. They will not take any of my calls. They will not answer emails and are trying to keep my money that they took without permission. I was contacted by them to give me Real Estate leads. They said that they would give me 15 leads for $20 a lead and 10% referral fee.in Real Estate this is normal practice for some leads. I told them I will not pay for a lead upfront. The guy who was named Kevin Benett, which by the way is most likely a fake name, told me that I would get these leads, then they would ask me to send them a check for the $20 a lead later. He told me to send him a copy of the check to make sure I was really going to write a check and send it when I get my leads. I told him I was uncomfortable with that. He said they would need proof before they sent the leads. Being that Real Estate is hard right now I agreed, so I wrote a check and faxed him a copy for proof. Yeah in hindsight this was stupid. He was just good at scamming me into to doing this. So I waited. 3 weeks later I was still waiting for leads and noticed that I was charged $300 on my bank account by them. I looked at the check and it was an electronically created check by them. Yeah they have a system to create a check that looks like yours but says no signature required (electronic signature.) Then I called them and they told me, "oh we needed to know your zipcodes that you wanted." Yeah right!!! Why didn't they contact me? So I gave them my zipcodes. I still waited another week and received a bogus lead. I called the lead and the lady said that her husband has been getting calls all day for weeks.By the way on the contract it says that I will get exclusive leads. So they gave some number that they give out to everyone. I called the company and told them I wanted my money back. "Heidi" (fake) told me that it was an accident and would give me the "live" exclusive leads. I got 5. I called them, two were not working numbers, the rest told me that they were not interested and were about to shut off their phones or not answer because of all the calls they receive. Once again still not exclusive. I have called to cancel and get my money back and I got this female dog name Lisa who kept repeating you signed a contract, everything I said, she said you signed a contract and nothing else. They are trained to say this without saying anything else. I have a fraud claim on the company now with Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is investigating the company for taking money out of my account without authorization. They will not pick up their phone anymore and are scamming people all day, still. If you come in contact with them beware. If I were you I would spread the word about them. I would go to their office in NM but that is probably a fake address as well. I tried to fax them something and the fax number is not working. Hmmmm. I wonder why.
