Being laid off was one of the most frustrating and depressing experiences I've ever had, but what made this experience even more depressing was being associated with the Bernard Haldane Associates and losing $8500 for which I received literally no services.
I've compared the dealing with Haldane similar to dealing with the old aluminum siding sales people. Slick presentation with promises of your house being in the Better Homes and Garden magazine, (referrals, inside contacts and how easy a Big Job could be obtained with the Haldane firm.). Then came the warning or threats of the slick aluminum salesman of your house rotting and the disgrace of the neighborhood, (Haldane replaced this with the threat of being unemployed for 6 to 18 months and how 75% jobs are obtained through referrals which they had plenty of, B&S - .)
After the aluminum salesman got his check and a signed contract the sub-par work begins. Just like the aluminum siding guys Haldane assigned a consultant who didnt return phones calls for weeks at a time, gave a half hearted attempt in his presentation. Oh, yes we must not forget the referrals, there were none and there were none planned to be given by Haldane, per the consultant. Those would be coming from me, so why would I need these services?
Remember the trusty little chart that was shown illustrating how only 2 to 5% of the jobs are gotten through newspaper ads, by the way thats how I got mine, no thanks to the Haldane services. I had 15 serious inquires, 4 from Head Hunters, 11 from newspaper ads, and 0 from Haldane. Actually the Head Hunters did a better job at preparing me for the inquires than Haldane.
The hook up to a your web site, which would give me access to untold jobs, displays the same jobs that are posted on Monster, Hot Jobs, Career Builder, and etc. Web sites.
To sum this up, we are registering a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Department. And Im going to post this on the Internet for all to see what a Wonderful service you provide. Last comment is a joke, just in case you didnt understand my sense of humor.
As my Mom would say, " shame on you folks, " when a person is unemployed and you bastards run a scam like this to take money that may be needed later to support my family. Yes shame on you.
