We signed a contract with NYKB and Perry Hiiman to renovate an apartment, including kitchen and bathroom. A large deposit was given by us to them. It was not protected by an escrow account or bond as the law requires. The work didn't start for nearly four months.
When the work did start, it was a disaster. Tiles laid upside down, flooring done incorrectly, paint slopped on over tape and debris, electrical botched—just to name a few things. Bathroom had to be regutted and kitchen was never done because we refused to give them more money until they obeyed the Liens law, so they abandoned the job.
Total disaster and fraud from beginning to end. Worst experience of my life—and I'm far from alone in the NYKB Victims Club.
