LSS, Lone Star Subscriptions, CRS, Inc. Scam, Magazine subscriptions fraud, BBB Unable to help. Do not buy subscriptions from College kids

In December Kids came around selling magazine subscriptions. Since my children had done this in past through their school, I did not check it out on line. I should have. I ordered a childrens magazine for my grand daugher.

LSS had no intention of honoring the subscription. Lone star takes your money, but does not come through. After several months I called the magazine company that I had ordered directly, to see if they ever received my order. They had not, and in fact the magazine for my grandchild had been discontinued in Feb.

They had another magazine that was still in operation. I asked if they had ever heard of Lone Star, or LSS or CRS and they had not.

I tried to contact Lone Star via telephone and mail with no results. I filed a claim with the BBB of Texas. They attempted to contact LSS. No reply from LSS according to the BBB report.

After almost 2 months LSS finally replied to the BBB and told them they would be refunding the $40.00 to me. That was on April 22. So the BBB closed the case as completed. But guess what, no refund was ever issued.

Here it is July 9 and nothing, nada. I have sent an inquiry to BBB to reopen the case but they replied that the case was resolved.

So what good is the BBB?

I have called Lone Star again and NADA.

Do not purchase anything from this company.

If the magazines they claim to represent have never heard of them, you know it is scam.

Just think they have no overhead having college or high school kids go out and get checks from people and they get to keep all that cash.

The kids don't get paid; they get a chance to win a trip. Foolishness.

Unfortunately, when the local soccer team or baseball team comes around to sell subscriptions, they won't get my business. It makes it tough on the kids.

Why can't these people be put out of business? Why isn't this considered theft. We paid for a product that was not delivered and they had no intention of delivering.

Where is the Texas atty general? Or the local DA?
