If you are going to start a e-commerce site, the best advice I can give is to NOT accept credit cards until your site is ALREADY making a profit. The reason is because you'll have to get into a 2 or 3 year contract. If the your business fails, your still stuck paying that company every month until the contract expires. Just accept cash, checks and money orders.
My story is I tried to get some stores on the net, I was told it was turnkey etc.By a company, it didn't work out due to the fact that you need to know HTML to do this, however this info is not in the ads. (There were other issues like double billing etc.) (I can't name the company due to a agreement w / them I made to get out of their contract) Anyhow, I was told to sign a contract w / Golden Eagle Leasing Inc.
When I saw the the internet stores were not going to happen, I approached Golden Eagle Leasing Inc. About tearing up the contract. Now it is a legal contract (far as I know) but considering the circumstances I told them it would be good customer relations to tear it up. They don't care I was not able to get any stores going, that they had to do nothing, are doing nothing and will be doing nothing. They want their money. They don't care this bad investment on my part has caused stress on my marriage. They just want money. They don't care I'm unemployed at the moment on Doctors recomendation due to stress-was vomiting several times a week from stress. They just want their money for doing nothing.
It's a heartless company in what's probably a heartless industry, unless there are other credit equipt. Leasing companies care aboutr public relations. I don't know how other companies treat their clients. I just know if I were to try another business, I would NOT accept credit cards.
What they do IS legal but HEARTLESS and bad customer relations!!!
