I ordered a single book, one time, from this company a year earlier. "Bottom Line Books" continues to send perpetual annual books, and bills automatically without your ordering.
They provide no web information or way to stop the service. They do not use credit card companies to avoid the complaints that would result from their strategically unethical marketing plan. (Intimidation billing of smaller amounts, to be paid by check only to a P.O. Box. No physical address, or phone, or web contact info provided.) They strategically inconvenience you, to force payment (because its nominal at $37.00), for unordered merchandise, or to repackage and send back the book.
As unordered merchandise, I treated the book as a gift under U. S Postal regulations for unordered merchandise. I am now being dunned by the NSA, "North Shore Collection Agency, Inc." for non-payment of the $36.92 bill for the unordered book. If my high, and judiciously monitored credit score is lowered by this action, I will be substantially, and irrevocably damaged and should be entitled to substantial punitive damages for the work time that may be necessary to repair my credit, threatened by their collection actions for this unordered "gift book".
I believe their carefully crafted marketing strategy, used nationally throughout the U.S. Depends on inconveniencing consumers for low dollar amounts to aggravate them, through collection agency demands, for payment.
The amounts are small enough that the efforts taken here by me, are rarely taken by others, because of time shortages. Thus, they are able to milk the public like a Tick, slowly drinking your blood ($) like a small nuisance vampire in the mail order market place. They should be stopped. Physically explicit written orders should be required before they send any books out unordered.
