Cricket has no ethics in doing business; I am a long time customer with Cricket. A few years ago, cricket had a wireless cell phone plan they offered with anytime long distance and local talk for $ 30.00 per month. Years later, I called there help line to find out how much it would cost to put caller I. D on one of my phone cell phones which they are my provider of wireless cell phones.
The young man told me he could give me the caller I. D for free because Cricket has put it in their new cell phone plans. So I said that would be great! I asked him if would change anything with the plan I have now. The cricket representative said NO. Shortly after that (One hour later) I had to make a long distance phone call and there was no more long distance on my cell phone.
I called back to Cricket to talk to a technician about what the problem was regarding my lost long distance. He said that I had the old contract with them and cricket no longer offer that plan. I said I never said I wanted the new plan and that I would like them to put back my original plan. The tech said that he could not go back and do that because it is no longer offered. Cricket Communications, Inc. Changed my contract I have with them and never told me that they did so. Cricket Communications, Inc. Never told me that they are charging me $ 5.00 more each month for the new phone plan that they (Cricket) put me on, without my permission or any agreement on my part to the increase of a monthly charge $ 5.00 dollars.
They want to get all the people / customers off the old plan. At $ 30.00 dollars a month for anytime local and long distance was a good deal at that time, so they will put their customers on their new plan for any reason they can. The Cricket manager I talk to said he would fix it, and ask me to hold in the line, so he put me on hold waiting for over twenty minutes. Later I was connected to another representative which I started the whole thing over again. I did this three times with Cricket. When companies become so big that any ethics or honesty to their customer is no longer important to them, Then It is all about the money to them. There must be accountability for their actions towered there customers. After all, we are the means for their wealth in business.
I understood that a contract was binding and that no where did the contract say in it, that they could change my plan or change the cost per month of my plan without telling me of the new changer. This was an illegal act that Cricket is performing and should be stopped.
