We entered into a barter agreement with Alan and Thereasa Applebaum, the owners of Indy Magazine to trade a full page of advertising for a full year in exchange for a server to run the business on, a new laptop from Dell and service for all of their computers as well as the new server for a year.in turn, after three months, Mr. & Mrs. Applebaum decided to keep our equipment and instead replace our ad with one from one of our competitors.
My advice to all potential advertisers is to pay as you go and only after you see it in print. You'll also want to check out the distribution as well. We found out after all of this that the magazine wasn't being distributed to nearly half the locations that Mr. Applebaum said it was.
