The Chelsea Property Group was responsible for the development and building of the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls, NJ. My company, UA Sign & Maintenance, LLC, was one of many vendors hired by one of their contractors to complete work at the jobsite. Our responsiblity was to work ten days straight together with workers from Local 137 to install pedestrian directionals, vehicular directionals, monument signs, food court letters, service entrances and exits, parking lot identification, and hallway icons. So the mall would be able to open on time. We completed all our work per the schedule and even attended a grand opening party. We were complete on November 12. We are still owed $26,722.56 and it seems Chelsea has no intention on paying us. There are at least eight other vendors that handled areas regarding signage that have not been paid. The original contractor working for Chelsea has filed Chapter 7 on 3/5/09 and Chelsea is using this to not pay us but we have been due this money since 11/12/08. We have spoken to Charlie Mannino, a Chelsea exec who is handling this and we were told they have no answer other than to have our attorney contact their attorney. I am extremely disappointed in Chelsea and their owners, Simon Property Group for allowing this to happen. I'm wondering if they will feed our families once they drive us out of business.
