Shopdani.com - High Cost Jewelry You don't Even Get To Keep!

I was surfing the web about 4 to 6 months ago (I can't even remember exactly, that's how long ago and memorable it was) and came acrossed this website called www.shopdani.com, and they were offering handmade jewelry for $9 a each. I thought that was a nice price and decided to give it w whirl and see if i liked their stuff. As I am a woman, I really do like to buy that kind of thing.

So, I got what I ordered and thought that it was nice for the $9 I spent, but not nice enough to go back and order again.

On February 12th I was checking my credit card statement, and noticed a charge for $68 posted to my account on the previous day. I didn't even recognize the name, but it was listed under "SHOPDANI.com EVANSTON", so I looked it up online. After seeing the website I remembered who it was. I called the Customer Service number and talked to a man that said that he was sorry but the package was already being processed and there wasn't anything they could do about it until the package came back. I can understand this. When I asked him why I was even charged anything in the first place because I hadn't placed an order, the man told me that when I received the $9 piece of jewelry I had been automatically enrolled to receive shipments in the mail at periodic increments. I asked him to take my card off their files and not to send me anymore packages.

When the package arrived by UPS, I refused it right at the door and told the driver that I had talked to the company and was told just to send it back with him. It never even entered my home.

After not seeing any charge back on my card, I called the customer service number again on March 6th and was told that they had received the package back and since I had called in they could go ahead and process the return. They let the package sit there until I called. The customer service rep told me it would take 10 business days to get my money back.

So, after not seeing my money go back on my card, I called again on the 11th business day and talked to a rep that was extremely rude to me. I told her that I felt I had been very patient and had waited the amount of time that they told me it took to process all of this. I informed the lady that I was getting super upset with the whole process and that I needed to get my money back. After a lengthy (and rude) discussion with this representative I was basically told that there was nothing they would do and that it was what it was. She told me that we could keep going around in circles but it would not get me anywhere. At that point I asked to talk to her supervisor. She refused to transfer me, saying that I would be told the same thing. After arguing with her about whether or not I could talk to a supervisor, she told me she would forward my account to one, and that they could "expedite" my account. I told her fine, and she basically hung up on me.

Now here it is 5 more business days (which means it's actually been 16 business days since the original return was processed) later. And I still haven't received my money back. I called today and talked to a rep and she told me that it had been sent to a manager and then was "reprocessed" and it would take another 5-7 business days from when they first did that. Meaning I could expect to see my money by the first of April.

Now, I know that $68 is not a lot to some people, but it is a lot to me. Especially since I don't even have the product that they charged me for and it looks like they keep pushing giving my money back. Given the amount of time they have had my money and the extremely rude customer service, I just wanted to make people aware of this and hope I could help someone else avoid this conflict in the future. Especially since their own return policy says "We want you to be happy with your Danielle Janine jewelry. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your order, simply return it to us for a full refund."
