American Values
Fraud deceptive company

Amen to everybody else who reported this company! I recieved a phone call from a telemarketer telling me that I won a Wal Mart sweepstakes. She said that I would recieve a package containing coupons for Gas and groceries.

The only thing that I was told was that I would be charged $5.24 for the package. Ever since, it has been a total nightmare. I noticed mysterious charges on my credit card statement. Two from Welnet and one from UTalk. I had no Idea at first where thay came from. I worked with my credit card comapny's fraud department to try to solve the mystery.

Then it finally hit me, like a lightbulb turning on. I realized that the charges were for memberships that I did not agree to sign up for. As part of their marketing ploy, American Values used deceptive, misleading advertsing. They did not inform me of the memberships, only of the package.

They signed me up for these stupid memberships without my permission or knowledge! Chase decided for my safety to close my account and reissue a new card. I then got another charge from Shopping Club. When I called to get the charges removed every time, I got a hispanic woman who didn't know how use a database.

I am an IT profressional with familiarity in relational databases so I know she was ignorant when she told me my last name didn't bring up my record. Plus, I could hear children in the background. She was operarting her scam from her home!

She finally agreed to credit the charges.in the meantime, I reported American Values to the BBB and Fraud.org. I never got the charges refunded except for Shopping Club.

I called Chase to dispute the charges. I then got a phone call from the corporate office or headquarters of American Values. A much more professional woman offered to issue me a check for the amounts.

This was in response to the BBB contacting American Values on my behalf. This was a couple of weeks ago. I am still waiting for my check. I told Chase to cancel the removal of the charges.

I do have great news guys!!! Guess what!

I got a letter from the BBB about my case against American Values. It is being forwarded to the U.S. Secret Service! Their ass is cooked now! Woo Hoo!
