Elance is nothing more than an unprofessional clown show.
I work on a lot of freelancer sites and joined Elance about a month and a half ago to expand my work.
First of all, almost nothing on their site works right. Their payment system is screwy, their automated reporting system is whacked, I can't find much of anything that works like they say it does.
Here is my complaint though.
I finished my first (and ONLY job I will ever do through their site) over a month ago. Buyer was happy and left good feedback. The money for the project was put into Escrow and when I was done he released it and it went into my Elance account.
My Elance account has a verified bank account and paypal account attached to it. I know they work because I had to buy some tokens from Elance to bid on projects from my Paypal account. I also paid my membership from my bank.
Well, I went in and clicked to transfer my job money from my Elance account to Paypal and it said "processing" and that it would take 1-2 days. This was on a Tuesday.
Friday my money still wasn't in Paypal so I emailed them. No answer by Wed of the following week. I tried calling several times and all I get is an answering machine and no return phone calls for my messages.
I emailed them on WED again, and then again on Friday. I emailed twice the following week. All the time I am calling 2-3 times a day and never getting a person or a call back.
It's been about a month and my $175 is still in my Elance account (they even billed me $9.95 for my following months membership fee!!!)
The company doesn't return phone calls, doesn't answer it's emails, and I have no friggin idea what to do.
Elance had to be the most unprofessional worthless group of cheats that I have ever come across!!
