Rip-off lies misquotes damages goods & steals

To whom it may concern;

I have had nothing but grief, hassle, many, many headaches, hours of time wasted on-hold, a charged-off account at CITIBANK VISA and a much lower credit rating and FICO Score all thanks to choosing Atlas Van Lines as a mover. They lied and stole from me items that cannot be replaced. Kathy Robinson, sales agent for Atlas Van Lines (PH: 727-217-0103) verbally agreed and quoted me $1,400 free storage to move my one-bedroom apartment and household belongings from Tampa, FL to Portsmouth, NH. I agreed and asked for $10,000 of full valuation insurance coverage, in addition to confirming and scheduling the date and time for the move.

The movers arrived more than three hours late, smelling of alcohol, lazily moved a few boxes, and furniture then went off for lunch. Considering all the money I was paying, I expected these guys to work hard. They hardly worked! Increasingly frustrated, I did most of the lifting and heavy moving and carried most of my belongings. These guys were very, very clumsy, lazy, slow and extremely inattentive, repetitively bumping and banging my stereo, DVD player, speakers, TV, table, futon, artwork and marble lamp.

After finally packing our entire belongings other than a weeks worth of clothing, I signed a Household Goods/Bill of Lading and Household Goods Descriptive Inventory List; with my quote for $1,400 and $10,000 of full valuation insurance coverage insurance, scribbled my initials and signature, and promptly left for my 18 hour trek north.

Three days later, I received a voice mail message on my cell phone from Kathy Robinson, rudely stating she was changing the original terms of our agreement and the price now stands at $3,631 due too interstate tariff regulations. Upon delivery, the moving company, held my things, now brusquely demanding $3,631 cash or cashiers check; they would not relinquish any of my belongings, not even a razor to shave and further threatened to leave and return to their storage facility and charge me an additional $100 per day, until the entire balance satisfied; what's more all this with very rude and uncooperative tones and attitudes.

Following more than three hours of long distance negotiations and charges on my cell phone, all to no avail, I learned that Kathy Robinson, sales agent (liar), Lee Gensheimer (owner, liar) and Chris Hancock (branch manager Atlas Moving, Billerica, MA, liar) are rude, deceptive and cannot be trusted. They were all conspiring to ripping me off. I simply wanted my personal household property back and to move in, after eight days of traveling.

At this point I called CITIBANK and explained to their representative my situation, she calmly explained my right to dispute the charges and I reluctantly agreed to pay the $3631 ransom to release my household items, realizing I had absolutely no bargaining position whatsoever as long as Atlas Van Lines help my property. I and Kathy Robinson verbally agreed to $1,400 to move. She and Atlas Van Lines cannot be trusted.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance and thank you for letting me vent!

Best regards
