RIPOFF, Household Goods Held Hostage Without Ransom

I am a widow with three children and had decided to move to New Mexico to be closer to my family.

I was contracted out by Atlantis to another company and was assured I would get my household goods within a week of moving into my home.

I gave Atlantis a date of May 4th as my move in date but the company brought my things early knowing I was not going to close on the house I purchased till May 4th.

I was told they would place our things in storage locally till I was moved in at their cost. I was expecting my household goods on the 4th then I received a call telling me it would be two more weeks. After two weeks came and went, I called and asked for a schedule but did not get a return call.

I had to make several long distance calls and when my call was finally returned it was the company Atlantis contracted me out to. The owner informed me he no longer worked with Atlantis and could not believe I still did not have my belongings.

It is June 10th and Atlantis still has not set up a delivery date or will not tell me where my belongings are located. I think my household goods are being held in a moving and storage facility in Alamogordo which is 17 miles away.

After reading other horror stories from customers of Atlantis, I'm afraid I will not get my things back and if I do, at what cost?
