Are not to be trusted, you will only get aggression and loose your time/money!: o (

Due to our economic downturn, I was desperate and applied to work at this Mickey Mouse (Impact Resources) company. Since this would be my second time working for them, I figured this time they would have changed their ways. However, like an Employee of 20 years told me they don't change their ways, they just change their names, meaning as you can see from other posts on the consumer complaints, their name has changed well over six times in the past few years. This Employee and I have come to understand they do so to cover their tracks and to recreate a new image from their past shady work ethic and mistakes.

I had the joy of working one day for this company on 11-14. I was first scheduled to drive over 45 miles one way to a store, just to work with a trainer on refreshing me on assembles, labor codes and recording them into the database/IVR system, etc. However, since I inquired about mileage reimbursement this D.M. Took the time to figure out where I could drive to without being paid mileage.

Instead of driving over 45 miles one way, I lucky to only drive 37 miles one way. That's right, 74 miles round trip for 6 hours of work (1.5 hours in a car) not paid, OF COURSE. This is the major point I want to make very clear for anyone even considering working for this company. I came about calling them top notch sales people I quote because that's exactly what they are, they over-promised and don't even under - deliver; they actual never deliver - (pay) that is just being honest!
After that day I checked every day on their work site when I had a new assignment.

Unfortunately there were never any new assignments for me to complete. At first I thought wow, they're up to their same old tricks just keeping you on board to avoid unemployment claims. When my first check arrived it was in the amount of 0.00. Yes folks, that's not an error, ZERO dollars, I have them as proof for anyone who wants to see them. After coming out of shock, I called my D.M. Who like usual was no help and went on a tangent about his personal life, none of which I cared about.

I told him I just received a check for 0.00 and Christmas is around the corner, I need to provide gifts for my little one. He calmed me down (top notch sales people) by saying he would get back to me on Monday. Monday comes and no call or email; so I called him and received his voice mailbox right away and naturally left him a message. He later that day sent me an email stating what I should expect to be paid this next pay cycle.

Here's the tricky part that works in this company's favor, the D. M had put in furniture assemble time/hours. Their pay cycle is a week ahead of bike's, instead of bike assemble time/hours being recorded I received furniture pay; the problem with this is that it broke up my check into two different pay cycles. Two weeks passed by, still no new assignment or emails from the D. M regarding my payroll issues. Come Saturday I received a check in the amount of $17.31.

Now I worked one day, for 6 hours straight no lunch, 1.5 hours not included in drive time and traveled 74 miles round trip. The gas cost me seven dollars, at the time was much higher than today, over two dollars a gallon. None of which I was ever compensated for. After a month's time I only received a check in the amount of $17.31 for all my time and labor which was extremely insulting. Nevertheless, I wrote off the experience and stopped checking Impact site for assignments.

Over a month passes and one day at my new job I receive a call from the D. M asking about my employment status and recovering the tools. Since I was never paid and was sick of all the aggression I hung up on him! Being at work I didn't want to risk my new job for a lowlife company like impact Resource. That very day, no later than an hour from coming home from work, the D. M shows up uninvited pounding on my door and window, demanding I give him his tool set.

I told him I would not until you pay me what I am owed. He persisted until finally I was forced to tell him I have the police coming here to escort him from my property. I received several phone calls from the corporate office requesting their toolset back. I politely told the employee's that I was waiting for my last check and until I receive it I will be holding onto them as collateral. I know how this game goes, and I refused to be stuck holding the bag.

Well folks, I received a pay check within 5 business days. As soon as I received the check on a Saturday this D. M has the effrontery to call wanting me to drop everything I'm doing to return his toolset. Well did he receive an ear full; I take my Saturdays very seriously and told him you will have to make an appointment for a week day. Like stated in the above passage this guy goes off on another tangent about his personal life.

I don't care where you're traveling next, I will leave the tools set out for you to pick up and it's on your shoulders. That night I had received an email from a corporate office person asking me to schedule a time for a toolset pick up. Here's the best part of all. She was writing from her husband's personal yahoo email account which had some goofy name to it. Now if this isn't a professional operation (note the sarcasm) then I don't know what it is.

I learned from this endeavourer to seriously investigate companies before choosing to work for them. I hope this complaint helps anyone even considering working for these jokers. Just remember you will be chasing your work and money around every day. You are better off working at a fast food restaurant then Impact, at least you can eat for free and you get paid what you're told you'll be paid!
