Hello All,
I just want to state that TCT is a rip off company. They'll either invite you to an Open Call or you respond to an Open Call screening they have at their local office. From there they'll take your measurements and ask you what talent are you going in for today.
What totally annoys the heck out of me is
1) the way they state "they are looking for people of color" knowing today's economy people of colors are "African American, East Indian's, Asian's, Hispanic. Etc.." whom are in the low class to middle class income range in the United States.
I believe they target these people of colors (as they stated) because they know they can scam money out of them.
2) If they are scouting out people who are model/actor/singer quality, then why do every single person who attended the Open Call goes home with a packet explaining the up front fee and monthly fees in there, and a scheduled phone interview for next business day.
This next part is what I love most about their phone interview tactics. Phone call: General greeting "how are you. Etc.." TCT Marketing Rep - "The interviewer from your Open Call session the othere day has stated you're a wonderful singer, have an awesome face and beautiful eyes.
I can see your picture here and we would rate you as a 10 from a 1 to 10 scale 1 being the worst and 10 being the best"
Consumer - "oh really, well thank you" - Ok. But the funny thing about this is every single friend of mine who went to this TCT Scouting event got a phone interview and TCT rated them all with a perfect 10.
No one got anything below a 10. Even Simon on American Idol can agree with me on how some of my friends would not be model material. (lmao)
3) The Fee's... My gosh they ask for 800 dollars upfront then 19.95 every month to maintain your website.
Get this - if your a singer you only get three MP3 file you can download your music demo to, and it's only 30sec long. Ha ha. I just crack up because what record company is going to listen to a 30 sec MP3 file.
Okay enough is said and I just want to summarize this for everyone who feel they have been scam into this modeling thing these company have setup.
First of all everyone is beautiful in their own way even if you not a model for the whole world to see. Secondly if you believe (be honest with yourself now) that if you have the requirements to be model, then go get your picture taken by a professional photographer.
There are professional photographer who'll charge you anywhere between 200.00 to 1000.00.
Remember photographers earn their respect mostly by experience, you don't have to have degree to be a photographer.
Look for one with years of experience. Scan your picture by using a scaner or have kinko's scan it onto a disk for you.
Upload it to the web by using a free webpage maker like yahoo or msn or geocities, then mail out your site to agencies.
Hey it'll probably cost you anywhere between $400 - $ 1200 per year or less! And if you get a job. Great job. And if you don't, you don't have to feel bad about it cause you've tried.
