Lies and Deceit | Multi-Level Marketing

Extreme Inc. Is a multi-level marketing company that works for ATT&T and Crystal Rock bottled water. They lied to me repeatedly and were very deceitful. I ended up wasting time and money.

Here's what happened: I applied to a bunch of jobs on Monster.com and I received an email from Extreme Inc. I looked at their email and website and decided they were just another multi-level marketing (MLM) company looking for more peons.
A woman called me wanting to set up an interview a couple days later so I asked, "Is this multi-level marketing?" She said, "No. It's a real company"
I also asked, "I need to start out on salary. Is this a commission based job?" She said, "Depending on your previous experience, you can either start out with commission or salary."

I agreed to an interview because the woman assured me they were legit. I arrived at their office the next day and immediately saw through their veil or trickery. Just like all the other MLM companies, there was a constant stream of interviewers filling out questionnaires. Heck, they didn't even have their own office! It was shared with another company which was probably a satellite franchise getting off the ground.

Anyways, the interview started with a guy who was a phenomenal speaker. He probably worked his way up to his position from where I sat. During his speech, he used some shady tactics like building a "yes ladder. He'd ask me simple questions like, "Do you have the proper skills?" Of course everyone is going to say yes. This way, I'd be more willing to say yes to a second interview.

After the guys polished routine which has been said hundreds of times, I asked him some questions like, "Is this a MLM company?" He replied with, "This is not an illegal pyramid scheme." I then showed him exactly how it's MLM and he ignored me completely and started talking about how companies work.

Every question I asked, he'd ignore and start talking about something else to distract me. I also asked the guy about starting with a salary which the woman told me over the phone. He said, "We'd start you off with face to face sales work. It's commission, but you'd have a fixed sum every week." Great, a blatant lie!

Now this is rather funny, because the day before I had an interview with a mirror company that admitted to MLM. Extreme Inc. Was like them in every way, except they wouldn't admit they used a highly criticized business structure.

So, I shook the guys hand and said, "I was in an interview yesterday with a company that admitted they are MLM. Your company is exactly the same in every aspect! Don't call me back."

In conclusion, Extreme Inc. Is a deceitful, lying company that tricks people into working for them. They are with out a doubt Multi-Level Marketing which is very close to an illegal pyramid scheme. I was lied to on the phone multiple times. The guy interviewing me wouldn't answer my questions with a concise answer. He has the gift of gab so watch out; you might get fooled into joining one of the many MLM businesses in Georgia.
