At&t Dish Network
Deceptive billing practices, incorrect information, everyone you speak to gives different information for the same issue

I received a flyer for phone service at $16 a month. When I called AT&T they offered me Dish Network and Internet service at an almost reasonable price. When the Dish Network installation contractor came to install the Dish service, he mentioned Dish offered a DVR at no extra charge. No one had mentioned this to me in initial phone call. I was very interested in this as I had subscribed to Tivo and didn't think I could use Tivo with Dish. The service man told me to call AT&T the next day.

I called the very next day. The first person I spoke to was an AT&T person. I told her I was not told about any DVR box when I placed the order. She told me since I just had the installation the day before I shouldn't have to pay the $50 extra for the service. She said I would have to speak to Dish Network though. She transferred me to AT&T Dish Network. They said I would have to pay the extra $50. They said I should have been offered the DVR. They said I could be lying about not being offered the DVR. I told them why would I be calling the very next day requesting the DVR.

This is one problem about the services I ordered. I was always transferred to the internet co or Dish Network and the information between them was never the same. I sent a complaint to the BBB because I felt this was a way to get extra money.By not offering services that were supposed to be free.By calling later, there's an extra charge. Also, when I placed my initial order, I was told I was eligible for a lot of discounts from Dish, AT&T Phone and internet.

I was given a monthly rate of about $142.00, which was more than I actually wanted to pay but I agreed. When the bills started coming none were under $230 a month! I was told I was paying for the modem and my installation charges were broken up into 4 payments as I requested. On month 5, my payment was still over $200 a month. I called and was told this was it. My payment would not be any lower. Meanwhile, someone called from AT&T regarding the BBB complaint. She said if I had the DVR installed, AT&T would credit me the $50 for the DVR installation.

Just call her when I get it done. When I called for the DVR installation, AT&T Dish Network told me the price was $100. They don't know where I got $50 from!!! I paid the hundred. I called the someone at AT&T who made the promise about 3 times so she could credit my account, left messages never heard from her. Then I found out about my bill not going down the 5th month. I got fed up and cancelled all of my AT&T services. I contacted the BBB and told them ATT did not hold up to their part of the agreement.

The someone at AT&T. Contacted me and told me she never got any of the messages and came up with excuses about why they could not hold up their part of the agreement. I had to pay $250 cancellation fees for the dish network but It is worth it. Not to mention, after I told them I was cancelling, their attitude really went downhill making me double glad not to be dealing with them.
