Purchased xbox 360 for my son Christmas 2007. (From BestBuy, with extended 2 year warranty) In February 2 months later, was freezing up and scratching games. Returned to BestBuy. Upgraded to the new Hdmi version, which cost more money. Upgrading also cost me my extended warranty. It could not be transferred.in November got the "three rings of death", 9 months later, we shipped it to xbox, for repair. A few days later, we received an email stating they received it. A few hours later, we received an email stating it was repaired and shipped out. A few days later, we receive our package from xbox.inside is a note stating it could not be repaired, with a list of reasons. We call xbox customer service, on the line over 45 minutes, getting the run around. Finally get a supervisor, on the line, tells us it couldn't be repaired because it was tampered with. Ah, no it wasn't." Trevor, who refused to give me his last name, because he knew I was going to file a customer complaint on his rudeness and terrible customer service, flat out accused me of tampering with it and lying about it. Also, repeatedly told me " I don't know why you are getting so worked up over it." The xbox 360 that was returned to me isn't even the unit I sent in. It is all scratched up, with dents in the back and it looks like the label, with the serial numbers was removed and re-applied. Uh, what's up with that. I didn't take it apart. It's terrible that multi billion dollar companies take advantage of their consumers more and more and their customer service get's worse and worse. Something needs to be done about this. Consumers need to be heard. Manufacturers need to care.
