Elocal Listing, It's resellers, WebPros.net, SEO, Investors have no product but a SCAM
Elocal Listing has been operating for almost two years (prior name was Zone Communications). They have NO PRODUCT but a service to make it easier for local businesses to get exposure in the local listings on Yahoo, Google, MSN, and other search engines. They created a reseller/Agent/Affiliate program which really basterdized the service. The scripts were good, but not reality. As people realized they could do it themselves, or after Elocal screwed their own resellers, the Resellers would branch out and do it themselves. Only problem is you can no guarantee positioning. Originally they had great rankings until the market got saturated. Never a patent pending but plenty of meeting with yahoo and Google. Plenty of behind the scenes meetings to try and boost rankings. It was all a throw the orders up against the wall and see what stuck process. Their backend Operations has never flowed, at least not with ample results. All they wanted to do was build it up fast and sell before the customers realized they were taken advantage of.
A good example is eBoost Media which tried to take down eLocal Listings, and sued each other. EBoost had even a lower standard of operations. People released from eLocal went to work for eBoost. The fued was on. EBoost has now changed names to cover their past, but clients still recognize the people and process that eLocal started. ALL BAD!
Do not pay for the service, you can do it yourself.
If elocal wants to claim to be a real SEO company, why did they have to retain the services of Blackwood and WebPros? WebPros.net won't even list their real office address (use a rented P.O. Box with and address) because they work from multiple houses. They may know how to do traditional SEO, but they have more fun taking the customers from eLocal or its other resellers. No communication between the two. Elocal couldn't bribe John from WebPros to hire on to Elocal and shut his company down. What next? Tim Judd the CEO had to purchase another company to do SEO, but the results still are lagging.
Bottom line is there is a circle of people that keep scamming small businesses with promises they cannot keep. Do it yourself. There are enough tutorials on line on how to get a local listing.
One of the original owners had a brother that was a very good salesperson (BSer) open his own resellership and caused the most problems with overpromising. All he wanted was to get paid to sell without regard for the customer. He has since gone away after he almost bankrupt the company with his bogus dollar deals.
Don't get me wrong, some of the employees are good people who try their best, but most are trained to take advantage of clients and then threaten or ignore calls.
I know all firsthand because I did work there and was very loyal, until they screwed me. Now I have moved on and have partnered with others to actually do a real service. I have many friends that still work there, and keep me up to date with all the crap going on. Funny thing is there are some that work at eLocal that really have talent and can improve rankings, but the upper management doesn't relize or ignore because ther get intimidated because someone else can do it better.
A lot has been written about sex and swinging. It is true, but the bottom line is that should not matter as long as the service has been provided.investors do not care because they are there to make money... Unless they get sued for harassment. People let that be. We know the sex addict Redhead has made the rounds with the SR. Execs. Job security I guess.
Elocal Listings is not going away. It may be hurting a bit, but will not shut down. They are a billing company of revenue, and that has a street value to it. Someone will buy it, but not for the billions they brainwashed the company lower level workers with.
Good luck with your new Herb Business too. Last I heard was that when many of the employees were given samples to try (most are recovering addicts or closet users just read the past reviews), they all stopped using the product because they couldn't handle it DID NOT WORK just like the local listing service.
Good luck Elocal Listings, Elocal Hosting, Search Initiatives, and all the other names you and your resellers and past resellers you screwed go by.
People keep hiding behind fake names. We all know who you are. How childish people are, even eLocal's own management team.
