George Velez - One Great Dog - One Great Dog Trainer
Unprofessional, Unreliable, and Uninterested in Living Up to his Bargains

In his general dealings with my family, George Velez has been unreliable, unprofessional, and without interest in providing the training he had been paid to provide. At least 5 other people have posted details on this website about those types of dealings they have had with him.

Additionally, in our particular situation:

1. George Velez threatened to sell a dog we had already given him a $200 advance payment on to someone else unless we paid the balance in full immediately. This threat was made even though he had agreed to wait until another dog we purchased from him 12 days earlier was integrated and accepted by our current family pet, (and which he had agreed to assist with, but had not);

2. After his threat to sell the second dog to someone else in spite of our $200 deposit, we took her for a trial visit, although we were not ready to do so. After one night, George Velez had his assistant email a threat that he would come take her back unless we paid the remaining balance immediately, even though he had not delivered her AKC papers as agreed, had said he was not able to locate her papers, and did not know when he would be able to do so; and,

3. George Velez did shoddy work when he installed the wireless containment system around our property. For example, he put the control panel in a plastic sandwich container on the ground, instead of in a wall-mounted electrical type box as he had described, and he also left the wiring that crossed beds exposed and lying above ground.

I wish I had searched this website and the Central Florida Better Business Bureau reports before doing business with George Velez (dba One Great Dog and/or One Great Dog Trainer and/or One Great Dog Trainer, Inc. And/or www.onegreatdog.com), because in addition to the 5 other posts I found on THIS website about Mr. Velez, I discovered that 12 complaints are shown as filed against him with the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida over the last 36 months.

Mr. Velez has responded to, and obviously monitors reports submitted here. I will file an update if he remedies our situation. At this point, however, I can only conclude that George Velez does not conduct his business in a professional, reputable, or trustworthy manner. Beware.
