I'm at the drive through speaker at McDonald's.
"Are Egg McMuffins still $2 for $2?"
"Yes they are."
"OK. Two Egg McMuffins and a medium coffee - that's it."
"$3.85. Drive up to the next window, please."
I give the girl a $20. Usually, they tell you what you owe, but this girl said nothing. She says,
"$15.15 is your change."
I said, "How much was that?"
She looks at the register and says, "You got the right change sir. Please drive forward for your receipt."
I get to the window and a guy hands me my stuff. I look in the bag and say,
"Where's the receipt?"
He walks away without answering. So I yell,
"Hey! Where's the receipt?" He whips around and yell's back "I don't know!"
Another woman comes to the window. I"m still holding the $15.15 in my hand. She says,
"What did you order sir?" I tell her, and she walks away. Now there are 6 cars behind me. Nothing happens. I yell in the window, "You owe me a dollar, and I have six people behind me. Just give me the money!"
The second woman comes up and says, "Sir, she'll come out and give you the dollar. Please drive forward."
So I drive forward and the same woman comes out with the dollar; not the one who took the money, but the one who said (without telling me the cost), "Sir, you have the right change.", and gave me the dollar.
I drove off, and figured it was a ripoff scheme that went awry.
