Disappointing DJ

Every aspect of our wedding was nearly perfect, EXCEPT for SuperDave's attempt to provide entertainment. That day was the most important day of our lives and we spent a lot of time and money preparing. It was obvious that he did NOT prepare! I hired SuperDave because indicated that he was versed in Christian music. I was looking forward to some great energetic praise music, NOT typical wedding songs from the 70s! When my husband attempted to contact him via email and phone, he did not even show enough respect to respond, discuss our concerns or apologize! The following items showed blatant lack of professionalism, preparedness and ability:

Mispronouncing our last name when introducing us!

Mispronouncing my mother's last name

Obviously not being familiar with the music, playing slow songs that should have been played during dinner

Many of the songs that I wanted to hear the most, which are current and fun, were never played (Everlong, Stray Cats, Brian Setzer)

I requested romantic Italian music during dinner and got Sinatra (not Bocelli, Pavarotti, etc.)

I requested contemporary Christian praise songs and got stereotypical 70s wedding music

DJs are responsible for controlling the energy of the room; our room was dead!

Since noone was dancing, I felt responsible to stay on the dance floor so there was SOME activity, and missed out on visiting with my guests

Songs were cut off before they were finished instead of faded out MANY times. Having 2 laptops is considered appropriate for a professional DJ, as I found out later.

I requested NO MORE 70s songs, then after having to approach again to speed up the tempo, I got Kool in the Gang's Celebration!

One of the guests was a DJ, who I wish I would have hired! I asked him if I was supposed to indicate every song to play and he affirmed that it was not my responsibility. That the performance was just very poor.

I asked one of my guests to PLEASE request music that was danceable since the DJ did not seem to have a clue. Even my guest's requests did not get played.

My timeline was obviously not considered.By the end of the night, there was no bouquet toss and no garter song, just a half empty room and a very disappointed bride.

I had planned to sing to my husband, but the night was going so poorly and the energy was so bad, I was literally sick and unable to sing.
