Beverly Adams was hired by Retail Group and worked for this company for 18 months. Her job was in-house counsel.
1) She was hired as a litigation attorney.
2) For 18 months Ms. Adams mislead this organization on duties that she was to perform, in particular, making appearances in certain cases which she did not do.
3) After our other attorneys have studied her cases her reasons for not making an appearance are frivolous and misleading.
4) In all of her 18 months Beverly Adams did not do one deposition and there were many depositions to be taken.
5) Beverly Adams dismissed cases without the approval or knowledge of management.
6) Ms. Adams has jeopardized this company and its investors by not carrying out her fiduciary responsibilities.
7) Even though Ms. Adams would not make an appearance in various cases she did do the briefs and answers on a number of occasions but would not identify herself as the attorney.
8) When Beverly Adams was discharged she called the sheriff twice within 2 hours as we helped her take out her personal belongings and records. A copy of the letter to the sheriff's office is attached.
A lawsuit of malpractice and a complaint to the Georgia Bar will be filed.

Dear Sir:
Beverly Adams has been our in house attorney since February. On Friday June 20th Ms. Adams was terminated from her position with our company. Ms. Adams was told to remove her items from our office and was told to not enter our office without being accompanied by a representative of our company. Ms. Adams chose to remove items Saturday June 21st at 10:00 am and a representative of our company, Mr. A., met her in the lobby of our office building.
Ms. Adams was accompanied by an officer from the Cobb County Sherriff Department when she initially entered the building and entered our office. The officer escorted her to her office and left the building within a few minutes. Ms. Adams then called in an officer from the Cobb County Police, A.P. Nichols Badge #1408, to accompany her while she removed items from her office. Officer Nichols spoke with Ms. Adams and Mr. A. And spoke with me on the telephone. Ms. Adams agreed to leave our office by 1:00 pm and Officer Nichols left.
Mr. A. Helped Ms. Adams load her 9 boxes of items, took them down to her car and helped her put them in her car. Ms. Adams was never threatened in any way by anyone from our company and was clearly safe and comfortable while removing her items from our office.
We do not understand why Ms. Adams called in the Cobb County Police in a matter that did not appear to warrant their involvement and what she was trying to accomplish.
